You Have to Feed What You Want to Grow 🌱

A few months ago, I planted two flower beds near my front door. Now, I’ve said time and time again, I do not have a green thumb. 😂 I really just wanted to make the entrance to my home a little more appealing. That’s it. That’s all.
However… those plants started looking like they were on their last leg, or should I say their last branch! 😂
After doing a little research, I realized I needed to fertilize them every so often, trim off the dead blooms, and actually maintain them.
More work?!?!
Yes. More work.
Over the last 2–3 weeks after caring them correctly, I’ve noticed they’ve started blooming again and looking much more alive. Some still have a long way to go because I made the mistake of watering them in the middle of the day and scorched a few leaves. 😩 But overall, they’re recovering and growing.
As I sat on my porch this morning, I realized something:
We have to feed and maintain the things we want to grow.
Everything requires intentional care and upkeep. I’m not just talking about our appearance. I’m talking about the things on the inside... our mental health, our relationship with God, our marriages, friendships, family relationships, and even our personal goals.
So let me ask you:
What are you feeding yourself?
What are you feeding the relationships around you?
Y’all know I’m all about small steps because when we get the gluttony spirit and try to change everything at once, nine times out of ten we end up dropping it all.
So this week, choose one thing that will positively feed your mind, body, spirit, or relationships.
Maybe it’s:
Taking a walk
Having a much-needed conversation
Choosing a cup of water instead of a Pepsi
Going to church
Listening to a podcast
Reading a few pages of a good book
Spending quiet time with God
Whatever it is, choose something that helps you grow. & if you don't know what you need....
Feed what you want to flourish. Choose well, babes. 💜
